Lacey Caldwell is a ceramic and mixed media artist, an art educator, and a mother. She was born and raised in the heart of Cajun country, Lafayette, Louisiana. Inspired by the rich art culture in her community, she pursued a life of making. She acquired a BFA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette concentrating in Ceramics and Printmaking in 2015.

In 2016, Lacey moved to Greenville, North Carolina to pursue her MFA at East Carolina University. Her graduate work comprised of ceramics, glass, and mixed media sculpture. After acquiring her MFA in 2019, she helped establish and run a ceramic studio and program for Pitt Community College, as adjunct faculty. Lacey currently teaches Ceramics and First Year Shared Experience at ECU temp full-time faculty.

Lacey has shown work regionally and nationally. She continues to explore creative interdisciplinary art processes, alongside teaching and spending time with her family. These relationships inform her practice as a maker.
